HIS RECAP CONTAINS THE BAD BATCH SPOILERS.
Still on the run from Fennec Shand, the Bad Batch seeks the help of an old friend of the Jedi who might be able to help identify who’s really after them. Omega gets a fancy new toy, Wrecker still has a headache, and the next mission might finally lead to the answers the team has been looking for.
Over the next few months, we’ll follow up each new episode of The Bad Batch with a quick recap while you’re excitedly yelling in our Discord (don’t forget those spoiler tags!) and waiting for our weekly Bounty Hunt live stream.
While we’ll stick to recapping each episode here, both our Discord and Bounty Hunt will be perfect places to discuss reactions and predictions for what’s to come. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS BELOW.
Let’s do the thing!
Omega and the Dad Batch land on Ord Mantell to see if they can gather intel on who hired Fennec Shand to go after them. Though she’s given specific instructions not to wander off and stay on the ship with Uncle Wrecker’s Gonk droid, this may turn into one of those times not following the rules saves a few lives.
Hunter, Echo, Tech, and Wrecker soon learn that if they want the answers they’re looking for, they’re going to have to earn them. Slave traders have captured a child, and if the Batch can rescue her, they can have some information … and some money. That’s a plus.
Unfortunately, slave traders want one thing and one thing only: More slaves to trade. So the rescue mission quickly turns into a bunch of captured deserted clones and an Omega very much in danger of … well, everything.
But though she may still have a limited understanding of how the galaxy outside of Kamino works, she’s smarter than many might give her credit for -- and learning quickly. Omega leaves the ship, finds the boys, and manages to sneak around the slave traders’ base just long enough to free a very cranky monster from a cage.
Releasing the rancor, as per usual in situations such as these, proved to be the right decision. In this case, however, it turned into the very convenient discovery that the rancor was the bounty all along.
It took some wrestling, but Uncle Wrecker got the job done. The Batch returned the rancor, got their payment, and learned that the name of Fennec Shand’s employer isn’t going to be as easy to nail down as they may have thought.
But hey, if the group is ever low on funds again, at least they know who to turn to. If they can be trusted that is. Can anyone? This is the Empire, after all.
