HIS RECAP CONTAINS THE BAD BATCH SPOILERS.
One new episode of Star Wars TV in a week? Excellent. TWO new episodes of Star Wars TV in the same week? This is fine.
Over the next few months, we’ll follow up each new episode of The Bad Batch with a quick recap while you’re excitedly yelling in our Discord (don’t forget those spoiler tags!) and waiting for our weekly Bounty Hunt live stream.
While we’ll stick to recapping each episode here, both our Discord and Bounty Hunt will be perfect places to discuss reactions and predictions for what’s to come. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS BELOW.
Let’s take a look back at this week’s (second) episode.
The Dad Batch returns to Saleucami and introduces Omega to Cut and his family (you know Cut - the clone that’s ACTUALLY a dad). Omega’s discovery of sun, dirt, and fresh air is only the beginning of her unintentionally reckless curiosity. Wrecker discovers ponchos. Please only refer to him as Uncle Wrecker from this point forward.
Heading into town, Cut and Hunter discover that the Empire isn’t just cataloging every ship that comes and goes out of the spaceport. Everyone is also being assigned a chain code - an identification number that will allow the Empire to track anyone anywhere at all times.
Surprise - Empire = bad. That didn’t take long.
Thankfully, Tech has the skills to create chain codes for Cut and his family without alerting the Big Bad Empire that Cut deserted from the Clone Wars. But not before Omega’s curiosity - and her discovery of “fun” - almost gets her into serious trouble.
Hunter has Tech make five identification cards - one for each family member, plus one for Omega. The Batch sneaks into the spaceport, the chain codes are a success … and Hunter breaks the news to Omega that she’ll have to go with Cut instead of with the Batch.
But Omega, just like her fellow experimental clones, isn’t one to willingly follow orders. She makes her way back to the Batch just before they free their ship and take off.
Hunter has a heart-to-heart with Omega about staying with the squad, and all of us cried because it only took two episodes for the masses to collectively decide we’ll do anything to protect her.
Catch recaps of each new episode of The Bad Batch right here, and don’t forget to tune in to Bounty Hunt, Youtini’s Star Wars TV aftershow, every weekend for full spoiler reactions and discussions from your favorite The Living Force podcast hosts.
