s if we haven’t already gotten plenty of The High Republic over the past few months, this week The High Republic Show returned with recaps, author thoughts, and Wave 3 reveals that were fully worth the wait.

Host Krystina Arielle returns (looking fabulous as always) with all the High Republic goodness you’ve come to expect from these episodes. As always, whether you need to catch up on some things you may have missed in recent stories or you need a quick High Republic refresher (it’s OK - there’s a lot going on), the show begins with a brief recap highlighting everything you need to know. Seeing everything laid out chronologically in one go does help center you on the timeline, if at any point you’ve felt a little overwhelmed.

Also, don’t miss the VERY COOL one-of-a-kind Starlight Beacon model built by model maker and Star Wars fan Jason Eaton.

In this month’s panel discussion, Arielle was joined by Jennifer Heddle, Cavan Scott, and Justina Ireland to discuss - spoiler-free - what it’s been like working on the stories we’ve gotten in this era so far.

“At the end of the day, it’s just about working with the author to tell the best story that we can,” Heddle said when asked about editing High Republic stories. “We have multiple authors writing simultaneously in this very specific time period where everything that happens really does affect everything else.”

Heddle went on to explain her editing process and the different rounds of editing that go into something like a Star Wars book, useful for anyone who’s as nerdy about words as they are about a galaxy far, far away.

Scott touched on the importance of Elzar Mann asking for help in The Rising Storm, the perfect way to relate a key Star Wars character to our very real lives without spoiling any plot points from the book that crushed our souls. Great job.

Ireland and Arielle also highlighted the importance of representation in media like The High Republic, because Keeve’s hair is on point and it always will be no matter how much it (and she) might change. Boom.

In addition to the panel discussion, this episode of The High Republic Show finished off with exclusive reveals - and beautiful ones at that.

In the upcoming The High Republic Adventures 2021 Annual issue, all five architects (authors) will contribute to the same story for the very first time. What could possibly go wrong?

Covers for other upcoming comics and the Phase 1, Wave 3 books were also revealed, and if someone doesn’t get that lightsaber out of Marchion Ro’s hand, terrible things are going to happen. To our emotions. Send help.

Another High Republic Show, another reason to love how much Cavan Scott adores messing with our heads. But let’s not lay all the blame on him. They’re all a team. They’re all responsible.

And one final thing before the end of this recap, and until the next one coming this November ...
