he Nihil have done more than enough by now to prove they’ll stop at nothing to gain the galactic power they crave. Though we’ve seen them shamelessly wipe out innocent beings on scales both large and small already, Tempest Runner is shaping up to continue this trend, at least based on what we’ve heard so far.
In a new excerpt released today, Tempest Runner Lourna Dee comes face-to-face with Republic forces (in a ship she named after herself, because why wouldn’t she?) in an attempt to follow Marchion Ro’s orders. But when her crew takes too long to board the relay station, the Jedi arrive and it’s too late.
Lourna Dee and Marchion Ro have been at odds with one another from the start. They both may be technically on the same side, but neither thinks the other is capable of getting the job done the “right” way. Where Marchion is impulsive and reckless, Lourna is calculating and intentional with her destruction and fury.
But the growing tension between the Eye and Tempest Runner makes it likely that Lourna won’t be able to count on Marchion to rescue her from Republic custody, which is where we know she’s headed based on the audio drama’s description.
When it comes down to it, after all, Lourna Dee’s biggest priority seems to be … herself.
