n June 11, StarWars.com announced a new book slated to release toward the end of 2020 -- a surprise, to be sure, but we’re not complaining!

To celebrate 40 years since the release of George Lucas’s second Star Wars film, Del Rey is treating fans to an anthology of short stories called From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.Like the From a Certain Point of View anthology that came before it, this collection of stories will all take place during the events of the film it supplements. While Luke, Han, and Leia are off having their own adventures, readers will get to see the film’s events unfold from the perspectives of lesser-known characters involved.

From StarWars.com:

“On May 21, 1980, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back made its theatrical debut. To celebrate the classic film’s landmark 40th anniversary, StarWars.com presents “Empire at 40,” a special series of interviews, editorial features, and listicles. The anthology series From a Certain Point of View is set to return with From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, celebrating 40 years of Episode V.”
