Dark Empire Trilogy

Written by
Tom Veitch
Artwork by
Jim Baikie, Cam Kennedy
This omnibus collects the three Dark Empire graphic novels. One of the early entries into the Star Wars mythos from the notorious Dark Horse Comics, Dark Empire is a truly epic Star Wars story. Written by Tom Veitch and illustrated in a trademark a surreal and gritty watercolor style by Cam Kennedy, this is divisive material among Star Wars fans! Written synonymously with Heir to the Empire, Dark Empire goes a very different direction. Whereas Zahn focused on military strategy and space battles by introducing a clever Imperial warlord, Veitch, a former monk, wanted to explore metaphysical themes of light and darkness. It's got all the Legends goodness you can imagine and more: superweapons, unique starfighters, Dark Side Luke Skywalker, Leia wielding a lightsaber, the return of Boba Fett, ancient Jedi lore, even a resurrected Emperor Palpatine!

Six years after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, the battle for the galaxy's freedom rages on. The Empire has been mysteriously reborn under an unknown leader, wielding a new weapon of great power. Princess Leia and Han Solo struggle to hold together the New Republic while the galaxy's savior, Luke Skywalker, fights an inner battle as he is drawn to the dark side, just as his father... Collecting the complete Dark Empire saga for the first time - Dark Empire, Dark Empire II, and Empire's End - this Star Wars hardcover is a must-have addition to any Star Wars library!

Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil

Written by
Drew Karpyshyn
Artwork by

The final chapter of Darth Bane's legend allows the reader to witness just how magnificent and horrifying the ultimate power of the Dark Side can be. Decades have passed since Dessel escaped the Apatros mines to ascend to his rightful place as the Sith'ari, and as Bane begins to realize the true cost of such power, fear begins to fester within his mind.

Fear that he will run out of time. Fear that his apprentice lacks the ambition to continue his great work. Fear that his knowledge and passion will die with him.

But he is not the only one looking towards the future. Throughout this novel, Bane and Zannah transcend the titles of master and apprentice as they both attempt to ready themselves for the only end that the Rule of Two can offer them.

Will their dynasty continue? Or shall the Sith be lost to history?

Twenty years have passed since Darth Bane, reigning Dark Lord of the Sith, demolished the ancient order devoted to the dark side and reinvented it as a circle of two: one Master to wield the power and pass on the wisdom, and one apprentice to learn, challenge, and ultimately usurp the Dark Lord in a duel to the death. But Bane’s acolyte, Zannah, has yet to prove herself a worthy successor. Determined that the Sith dream of galactic domination will not die with him, Bane vows to learn the secret of a forgotten Dark Lord that will assure the Sith’s immortality–and his own.

Zannah knows that her ruthless master has begun to doubt her, and so she prepares for his downfall, plotting at last to wrest from Bane the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. Zannah pursues her Master from the grim depths of a ravaged world to the barren reaches of a desert outpost, where the future of the dark side will be decided by the final, fatal stroke of a lightsaber.

Darth Bane: Rule of Two

Written by
Drew Karpyshyn
Artwork by

The history of the Sith was forever changed after Darth Bane's climactic victory at the end of the first book of his lauded trilogy. Decimated by the though bomb, the Order lay in ruins as a single master escaped the planet with his new apprentice, and thus, the Rule of Two was born. This novel continues the masterful legend of Bane as he simultaneously trains the newly appointed Darth Zannah and begins searching the galaxy for the most heralded objects of Sith lore: the fabled holocrons.

Bane's pursuit of this arcane knowledge is treacherous, to say the least, but his raw power and ironclad will encase him with an armor unlike anything the galaxy has ever seen. With his legacy at stake in the form of a brilliant young woman, Bane shows readers once again that he will stop at nothing to create the order that will one day destroy the Jedi once and for all.

As the last surviving Sith, Darth Bane promulgated a harsh new directive: the Rule of Two. Determined to put this policy into action, Darth Bane thinks he has found the perfect apprentice. Zannah, though young, possesses an instinctive link to the dark side that rivals his own. Under Darth Bane's tutelage, she will become essential in his quest to destroy the Jedi and dominate the galaxy.

But there is one who is determined to stop Darth Bane: Johun Othone, Padawan to Jedi Master Lord Hoth, who died at Bane's hands in the Sith War. Though the rest of the Jedi scoff at him, Johun's belief that there are surviving Sith is unshakeable. But not even Johun could foresee the astonishing new knowledge and power that Darth Bane discovers through Force–induced visions—power that will alter him in ways he could never have imagined.

After a failed attempt to free the Wookies from slavery, Chewbacca is imprisoned in Ashmead’s Lock. Aftermath

Written by
Chuck Wendig
Artwork by

What many still don't know about the Empire is that it did not instantly crumble with the destruction of the second Death Star. For a long time, those who remained loyal to the Emperor held on, refusing to surrender and accept defeat. In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, there is still a war to be won. And it's not just up to the high-profile heroes we know and love to get the job done.

Follow an unlikely team of rebel heroes, from old heroes like Wedge Antilles to new ones like Temmin Wexley, as they struggle against what remains of Palpatine's forces and try to save the galaxy from coming undone again.

As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy's scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy's strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but is taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Meanwhile, on the planet's surface, former Rebel fighter Norra Wexley has returned to her native world—war weary, ready to reunite with her estranged son, and eager to build a new life in some distant place. But when Norra intercepts Wedge Antilles's urgent distress call, she realizes her time as a freedom fighter is not yet over. What she doesn't know is just how close the enemy is—or how decisive and dangerous her new mission will be.

Determined to preserve the Empire's power, the surviving Imperial elite are converging on Akiva for a top-secret emergency summit—to consolidate their forces and rally for a counterstrike. But they haven't reckoned on Norra and her newfound allies—her technical genius son, a Zabrak bounty hunter, and a reprobate Imperial defector—who are prepared to do whatever they must to end the Empire's oppressive reign once and for all.

Aftermath: Empire's End

Written by
Chuck Wendig
Artwork by
In this, the final volume of Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy, we find the epic conclusion to the journey of Nora, Temmin, Mr. Bones, Jas, Jom, and Sinjir, in the events following the destruction of the second Death Star. The book focuses on the Battle of Jakku one year after Return of the Jedi. It deals with the master plan of Gallius Rax, the trilogy’s mysterious villain, and the future of the galaxy. This book also tells the story of the birth of Ben Solo and the early days of Han and Leia’s family. Wendig weaves a complex plot to its culmination through a diverse cast of compelling and mostly original characters.

As the final showdown between the New Republic and the Empire draws near, all eyes turn to a once-isolated planet: Jakku.

The Battle of Endor shattered the Empire, scattering its remaining forces across the galaxy. But the months following the Rebellion's victory have not been easy. The fledgling New Republic has suffered a devastating attack from the Imperial remnant, forcing the new democracy to escalate their hunt for the hidden enemy.

For her role in the deadly ambush, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane is the most wanted Imperial war criminal—and one-time rebel pilot Norra Wexley, back in service at Leia's urgent request, is leading the hunt. But more than just loyalty to the New Republic drives Norra forward: Her husband was turned into a murderous pawn in Sloane's assassination plot, and now she wants vengeance as much as justice.

But Sloane, too, is on a furious quest: pursuing the treacherous Gallius Rax to the barren planet Jakku. As the true mastermind behind the Empire's devastating attack, Rax has led the Empire to its defining moment. The cunning strategist has gathered the powerful remnants of the Empire's war machine, preparing to execute the late Emperor Palpatine's final plan. As the Imperial fleet orbits Jakku, an armada of Republic fighters closes in to finish what began at Endor. Norra and her crew soar into the heart of an apocalyptic clash that will leave land and sky alike scorched. And the future of the galaxy will finally be decided.
