Doctor Aphra made her big debut in the 2015 line of Darth Vader comics, but fans loved her so much that she earned her very own series. What’s not to love about this twisted spin on a classic crew? Chelli Lona Aphra is what everyone loves about Han Solo and then some. You never know what she’s going to pull out of her sleeve and she has a crew that’s just as lovable. Imagine the polar opposites of Chewie, Threepio, and Artoo times ten. You’ll never read anything else so different yet so Star Wars at the same time.

The character of Doctor Aphra is an excellent addition to the Canon era that feels so natural in the Star Wars world. Although this first volume is not her actual debut into the Expanded Universe, it does a great job in showing us her charming personality and sharp wits. We see where she's come from, what she's capable of, and what she wants out of life. I would compare her to Han Solo, but with less care for the greater good. Just an old-fashioned desire for wealth and fame.
