Setting the stage: All the groups introduced throughout the series - the New Republic fleet, the Spice Runners of Kijimi, Rax’s Imperials, the Acolytes of Beyond, and more - are now in place for an epic final showdown.
Plans revealed: Through a series of spies and betrayals, the Rebels discover that Adelhard intends to use Jakku to take down both the New Republic AND the leftover imperial remnants led by Gallius Rax.
The big picture: After 10 issues of chaotic buildup, Segura is finally tying everything together for the long-awaited battle that ends the Empire. Jethro Morales’s art is fantastic as usual, perfectly capturing the reunion of the Original Trilogy heroes as well as high paced action throughout the issue. While the series feels a bit disjointed compared to the title’s implied focus on Jakku, it continues to be an exciting look at the early days of the New Republic.
